River Camp Scholarship Program
The River Parkway Trust is dedicated to providing children opportunities to enjoy the wonders of nature and the San Joaquin River. Every child deserves the chance to explore, learn, and play at River Camp. Scholarships, at varying levels, help remove financial barriers to make camp possible for more families.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and donors, the River Parkway Trust is proud to provide River Camp scholarship opportunities for seasonal and summer camp programs. These scholarships would not be possible without their support. To learn how you can help make camp accessible for more families, click here.
How to Apply for a River Camp Scholarship
- Please read the information below carefully so you will know what to expect and how to complete the River Camp Scholarship process.
River Camp scholarships are available for all Fresno-based public programs throughout the year. Families are welcome to apply for one scholarship per camper, each season. As of September 2025, this includes the following:
Scholarship funds are limited and not all requests can be fulfilled. Most scholarships granted are partial (50%-75% of fees). Scholarship applications are carefully reviewed by members of the River Parkway Trust staff and are awarded according to the needs of each unique request. It is recommended applicants review their applications carefully prior to submitting.
If your camper is awarded a scholarship, you will receive an email containing a financial statement indicating the awarded amount. River Camp staff will place your camper into their camp session (based on your preferred session dates indicated on the scholarship application) once the scholarship has been awarded, and will automatically waive the awarded amount. You will then receive a registration confirmation email detailing your camp reservation. The previously paid scholarship application fee will automatically transfer as the non-refundable deposit ($10/camp day; session dependent) for your camper's registered session. If there is a remaining balance on your account after a scholarship is awarded, it will be due 7 days prior to your session start date.

Cancellation Policy
Full refunds (less the non-refundable deposit amount and any add-on fees) will be given if requested at least seven (7) days before your camp start date. For cancellations made less than seven (7) days before your camp start date, refunds will only be given for medical or family emergencies. The terms medical or family emergencies include any required quarantines due to infection with COVID-19.
Please note: A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration: $10/camp day. All registrations are considered final. Once you have completed registration and payment, switching to another session will require cancelling your reservation, forfeiting the non-refundable deposit, and completing a new registration (including a new non-refundable deposit).
