River Camp Rangers at Owl Hollow

Is your 6th-8th grader ready for an amazing week down by the river?  

River Camp Rangers at Owl Hollow, held at our newly completed riverfront site next to the River Center, is a camp that's just for them.  Each day they will learn leadership skills, participate in games that promote team building and communication with their peers, and complete hands-on science and engineering challenges-- not to mention camp classics like canoeing, swim time, and arts and crafts. Sample activities include building a solar oven to cook s'mores, bottle rockets, and taking part in classic low ropes course style (groundwork only) teambuilding. Our lively and experienced staff will engage your children in activities that will encourage personal growth as they make new friends, try new things, and reconnect with the natural world.  A River Camp 2026 T-shirt is included in the cost of registration.  

Ages: Entering 6th - 8th grades 

Time: 9:15 am  - 3:45 pm, Monday - Friday

Location:   Owl Hollow (11631 Old Friant Rd, Fresno) is located next to the River Center but uses a different access point.  A map will be sent upon registration, and signs directing parents to the Owl Hollow entrance will be posted along Old Friant Road. 
Cost: $355 ($305 session fees, $50 non-refundable deposit). Parkway Donors at the $100 annual membership level or $10 per month Sustaining Donors or higher receive a 10% discount on each registration; discount code must be entered during registration; discounts will not be given retroactively.

To maintain competitive rates and hire the best staff possible, River Camp fees increase in direct proportion with CA state minimum wage. Partial scholarships at multiple levels are available to increase financial accessibility and inclusivity in River Camp programs. Cancellation Policy

Full refunds (less the non-refundable deposit amount and any add-on fees) will be given if requested at least seven (7) days before your camp start date.  For cancellations made less than seven (7) days before your camp start date, refunds will only be given for medical or family emergencies.  The terms medical or family emergencies include any required quarantines due to infection with COVID-19. 
Please note: A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration: $50 for River Camp. All registrations are considered final. Once you have completed registration and payment, switching to another session will require cancelling your reservation, forfeiting the non-refundable deposit, and completing a new registration (including a new non-refundable deposit).

River Camp Rangers at Owl Hollow Scholarships

To Apply for a scholarship, please use the registration link below.  You will indicate your desired week during the registration process and pay the non-refundable deposit to reserve your camper's space.  If a scholarship is awarded, your camper will be moved into the appropriate session and you will be notified by e-mail.  The majority of awarded scholarships are partial, ranging from $50 to $305 of the $355 fee.  If there is a remaining balance on your account after a scholarship is awarded, it will be due 7 days prior to your session start date.

River Camp is a place for children of all abilities. All children deserve the opportunity to learn, play, and thrive in the natural environment at their level. Striving to incorporate inclusive practices organization-wide, Parkway employs Support Counselors at River Camp programs to ensure programming is accessible to all children, ranging from frequent basic check-ins and extra breaks to 1:1 staff support to make certain each child’s needs are met.
