Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to get outside and support the mission of the River Parkway Trust. The Trust was founded by passionate volunteers concerned about development along the San Joaquin River. For over 30 years, thousands have supported our mission through habitat restoration, education programs, camps, advocacy, and more. Today, volunteers remain essential to everything we do. We invite you to explore the many ways, short-term or long-term, to get involved in creating the San Joaquin River Parkway and connecting our community to the river.

ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES

River Stewards
Habitat restoration, exotic species removal, trail maintenance, and river cleanup projects.
Education Programs Docent
Assist Trust staff with leading trips to the river for elementary school students.
River Center Docent
Lead tours of the River Center’s restored 1890s Ranch House. Or greet River Center visitors and complete sales for the River Store.
River Tours Volunteer
Assist Trust Kayak/Canoe Guides with leading public river tours.
Gardening Angels
Assist with maintenance of River Center’s gardens and orchards.
Special Events
Assist with event set-up and tear down, parking, and other event needs.
River Center Art Committee
Help facilitate the River Center's art exhibits by recurring local artists' exhibitions in the River Center Art Gallery.
River Center Trustee
Monitor the River Center grounds and interact with River Center visitors. Provide information about the River Parkway Trust and Parkway access opportunities
Nature Walk Guide
Assist with or lead nature walks for the public on Parkway properties.
