Get involved with the River Parkway Trust through our multiple programs for ALL ages.
Canoe/Kayak Tours
Paddle down the river with us! Each spring and summer, the River Parkway Trust offers guided kayak and canoe tours on the San Joaquin River. Our trained guides will provide you with the necessary equipment and teach you basic paddling skills.

The course is perfect for any organization, business, club, or another team that wants to foster communication, leadership, problem-solving, collaboration, and trust.

The River Parkway Trust's nature walk program will take you to places not usually open to the public. Along the way, you'll hear bird songs, the sounds of the river and breeze, and a sense of peace and respite that time spent in nature can provide.

School Field Trips
Take your class to the River! Give your students a chance to get out of the classroom and into the outdoors with an educational experience along the San Joaquin River. We work in partnership with the Fresno Unified School District, Madera Unified School District, and Fresno County Parks to provide experiential learning opportunities for grades K-12.

The River Parkway Trust offers seasonal U-pick citrus and blueberries at Sumner Peck Ranch.

The River Parkway Trust offers weekend programs for pre-K through high-school-aged youth as well as family-friendly events throughout the year.

Community Listening Sessions
Offer your input on how accessible the San Joaquin River is to you! The River Parkway Trust holds listening sessions with community partners to receive feedback on issues around the San Joaquin River, to hear suggested improvements to the Parkway, and to better connect with Fresno and Madera residents.

Pre-School Program
The Young Explorers Enrichment Program is a nature-based program for children ages 3.5-Kindergarten. This is an extension of our Young Explorers summer camp and is designed to supplement traditional classroom preschool and kindergarten instruction through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences using nature as the classroom.

River Camp, hosted by the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust, provides a fun and safe place for campers of all ages to spend time at the river exploring, playing, making friends, and learning about nature.

The Living River Speaker Series is an opportunity to expand your knowledge about the San Joaquin River. In this inaugural series, expert presenters will explore topics relating to the history and future of water in the Central Valley.

Youth Parkway Ambassadors
The Youth Parkway Ambassadors (YPA) program is a 3-month program commitment in which high school students learn about the San Joaquin River and its role in our community, share memorable outdoor experiences with new friends, access and explore multiple Parkway properties, and gain experience planning events, creating outreach materials, and leading outdoor activities at free public open house events.
