Bryan Medina
S. Bryan Medina is the author of Tears of a Man Transfixed (2025) and More than Soil, Less than Sand (2017). An icon of local poetry slam culture, Medina founded The Inner Ear, The Beat Down Slam, and Poetry and Pints Free Writer’s Workshop, and was named Fresno County’s third Poet Laureate. His work has appeared in Flies, Cockroaches, and Poets, In the Grove, The San Joaquin Review, Jubilee, and Invisible Memoirs, among others. Medina is a Gulf War veteran and a graduate of Fresno Pacific University.
Ellen Armour
Ellen is a classical pianist of 30+ years and earned her BA in Music Composition from UCLA, studying under Paul Chihara, Mark Carlson, Roger Bourland, Russell Steinberg, and Dwayne Milburn. She also studied jazz piano & vocal performance by invitation of Kenny Burrel. A recession-era graduate, Ellen went on to work in project management for the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, Google, Chevron, and in several Director roles within TETER Architects & Engineers before returning to the arts with the Fresno Philharmonic, where she serves as Development and Marketing Director. Ellen is an avid composer living in Fresno with her husband and their two children.
