General Information:  

Participants should be reasonably physically fit and prepared to get wet. The minimum age to participate is 12 years old. Canoes are two-person boats, sit-on-top kayaks are single-person boats.  Tours are designated as either a "kayak tour" (1 person boats, maximum of 12 participants), or "canoe tours" (2 person boats, maximum of 14 participants).  Special group tours can be scheduled for groups of 8-12 (kayaks) or 10-14 (canoes).    Call 559-248-8480 for details.

Reservations are required for all tours. Making reservations at least 2-4 weeks in advance is recommended.   All tours include necessary equipment and instruction from our trained guides. Tours may be cancelled due to low enrollment, weather and hazardous river conditions.  

Refund policy: Full refund provided for cancellations made at least 1 week in advance of tour.  50% refund provided for cancellations made three days prior to tour.  No refund provided for no shows.  If the tour is cancelled due to low enrollment, weather, or river conditions, participants will be notified with as much lead time as possible and given the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.

Owl Hollow to Fort Washington Beach 
Begins with exhilarating riffles that turn into calm downriver stretches. Total time 3.5 hours, approximately 2.5 hours on the water: $30 Members, $35 Non-Members. Times: All Sunset Tours start at 4:30pm and end at approximately 8:00pm.  River conditions and group dynamics (paddling speed) can increase or decrease the length of the tour, so all ending times are approximate.

Saturday Morning Half-Day Kayak Tour

Great for relaxing, or escaping the summer heat.  Begins with exhilarating riffles that turn into calm downriver stretches.Total time 3.5 hours, approximately 3 hours on the water. $30 Members, $35 Non-Members. Times: All Half Day Tours start at 8:30am and end at approximately 12:00pm. River conditions and group dynamics (paddling speed) can increase or decrease the length of the tour, so all ending times are approximate.

Begins with exhilirating riffles and includes the natural beauty of an undeveloped section of the San Joaquin River.  Total time 4.5 hours, approximately 3.5 hours on the water. $40 Members, $45 Non-Members. Click one of the highlighted dates to register today! *This is a kayak tour, maximum of 12 participants, each person has their own boat.  Children 12+ welcome.

Times: All Long Half-Day Tours start at 8:30am to and end at approximately 1:00pm. River conditions and group dynamics (paddling speed) can increase or decrease the length of the tour, so all ending times are approximate.

Calm Water Adventure

Sycamore Island

Perfect for first-time paddlers, and anyone looking for a relaxing paddle on mostly calm water.  Explore the river near Sycamore Island by paddling in and around some of the connected ponds along the river channel.  Along the way you'll learn basic paddling skills and learn how to effectively maneuver a kayak on the water.  Your guide will customize this experience based on the interest of the participants, and may include kayak games and races for those who want to focus on skills, or more exploration and information about the San Joaquin River for those who want a relaxing and educational tour.  Contact the River Parkway Trust to schedule a calm-water adventure for your group of 10-12 people.

 

Full-day Tour

Lost Lake to Fort Washington Beach 
Paddle past Native American grinding holes, Ledger and Rank Islands, and the San Joaquin Ecological Reserve. Enjoy your lunch along the way. Total time 7 hours (8:30am to 3:30pm), approximately 6 hours on the water.  $50 Members, $55 Non-Members  Contact the River Parkway Trust to set up a Full-Day Tour for your group of 10-14 people.
