River Camp Junior Leaders Program

Junior Leaders are high-school-aged volunteers who are interested in developing leadership and communication skills while gaining experience working with younger children. Junior Leaders assist River Camp Firebaugh Staff in leading a variety of activities each day including arts and crafts, swimming, canoeing, games, and songs. They act as role models for the campers, demonstrating a spirit of respect for the environment, cooperation with camp rules, and willingness to work and play with everyone at camp. Junior Leaders participate in team-building and leadership activities with their peers as well. To receive a River Camp Junior Leaders t-shirt, a $10 deposit is required.

Eleven-year-old Jenni Silva loves River Camp. For Jenni, camp is the way to get outside where she feels free. Without camp, she'd be stuck inside for her whole summer vacation.
"It feels better to be outside than inside because you feel like you are in a cage." - Jenni Silva
Do you remember when summer vacation meant playing outside from breakfast until dinner? Children in Firebaugh do not have the same freedom to explore and play in the outdoors. By supporting River Camp Firebaugh, YOU can help tell a different story.
