Nearly 70 years ago, our founding mothers had a dream to care for children in a hospital as special as its patients. Valley Children's has flourished ever since, caring for hundreds of thousands of children. Vulcan Materials Company believes that being a good corporate citizen requires hard work to nurture our employees, respect our neighbors and protect the environment for future generations. In 2001, Vulcan deeded the historic Riverview Ranch and surrounding 4 acres to the River Parkway Trust. With local support, the Trust renovated the 1890s ranch house, landscaped the grounds, and opened the facility to the public in 2002 as the Coke Hallowell Center for River Studies (River Center). Vulcan currently is continuing reclamation work on its former mining lands that surround the River Center.
