Marica Sablan
Board Member
Marcia is a long-time resident of Firebaugh, She has always been interested in the policies and projects of the San Joaquin River Trust. Firebaugh sits on the banks of the San Joaquin River and has a long history as a river crossing. The river crossing was developed and owned by Andrew Firebaugh, a German immigrant who provided crossings on a ferry. It was a crossing for the original Wells Fargo route from St. Louis.
Several years ago, Mrs. Coke Hallowell and her daughter spent time in Firebaugh interviewing older residents about their lives on the River. Marica was honored when Coke later invited her to join the Board!
Since that time, Marcia has learned so much that is also applicable to Firebaugh’s portion of the River. She is happy that Firebaugh was chosen to be the site of a successful River Camp each summer.
