Jenae McCarthy
Restoration Project Manager
Jenae was raised in Fresno, CA. She first became involved with the San Joaquin River Parkway as a Junior Leader at River Camp. She attended San Francisco State University for an undergraduate in zoology and returned home during the summer to work as a River Camp Counselor for 2 years. She stayed at SFSU to pursue her master’s in biology in the ecology, evolution, and conservation biology cohort. Her research focused on the population genetics of reptile species in the Mojave Desert. During her time in San Francisco, she worked for SaveNature.org as an Education Specialist and taught biology lab courses at SFSU. She returned to the San Joaquin River Parkway in 2020 as a Restoration Technician and after a year stepped into a Project Manager role. In her free time, she loves to paint, listen to audiobooks, and seek out reptiles.
