Sharon was selected in March 2015 as the Trust's third Executive Director.
Sharon has a degree in political science from the University of California at Davis. She joined the Trust in 1999 and became Deputy Director in 2008. During her tenure with the Trust, Sharon has implemented a variety of major projects including the extension of the Lewis S. Eaton Trail to the River Center, habitat enhancement at Jensen River Ranch, several invasive weed removal projects, and the recent acquisition of Sumner Peck Ranch.
Sharon grew up in Fresno as the child of two educators, and her love for the natural world began with time playing in an open field behind her house and in a nearby irrigation canal. In those places, she first witnessed the spring migration of American robins and captured mosquito fish with elementary school friends on hot summer days.
Sharon is a member and past board member of North Fresno Rotary, and in 2017 was recognized as Executive of the Year by the Central California Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. She is passionate about land conservation and trails and has taken two cross-country road trips which focused on exploring parks and trails throughout the US.
When she’s not working, Sharon can usually be found working on her rural property, accompanied by her horses and dogs.
