The River Parkway Trust's largest annual river cleanup is here! The Great Sierra River Cleanup is the premier volunteer event focused on removing trash and restoring the health of waterways throughout the Sierra Nevada Region. Volunteers will join Trust staff in removing trash from the Jensen River Ranch near Woodward Park in north Fresno. All tools and materials are provided, though volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and garbage bags (or bucket) if able.

This event will run from 9:00am until 12:00pm on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

Volunteers should dress for the weather, wear comfortable hiking shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle. Bringing your own gloves and trash bag/bucket is recommended but not necessary.

Volunteers will meet at the gate to the property Located on Rice Road, 600-feet from the intersection with Friant Road. Please carpool as much as possible.

To get there from Fresno:

  • Head north on Highway 41 and exit Friant Road towards Woodward Park
  • Continue on Friant Road past the park.
  • Turn Left onto Rice Road.
  • The gate is just ahead on the left.
  • Trust staff will greet you at the gate and give you further instructions for parking.
