December River Stewards Work Day

Registration is closed for this event

Calling all green thumbs! We need your help to plant willows and cottonwoods at our Floodplain Habitat Enhancement Project on the San Joaquin River at River West Fresno. The event will run from 9:00am until 12:00pm and is suitable for all ages.

Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle. The floodplain is located along the river's edge and could be muddy in spots. All equipment is provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own work or gardening gloves if able.

Volunteers will meet at the gate to the property before driving to the project site. Please carpool as much as possible.

To get there from Fresno:

  • Head north on Highway 41 and exit Friant Road towards Woodward Park
  • Turn Left onto Audubon Drive then continue past the park and over the highway
  • Turn Right onto Del Mar Avenue then immediately make your first left onto Riverview Drive.
  • The gate to the property is straight ahead.
  • Trust staff will greet you at the gate and give you further instructions for parking.
