June River Stewards Work Day

Registration is closed for this event

Join us at our Jensen River Ranch Habitat Enhancement Project to construct and install protective plant cages. These cages are vital to protect our delicate young plants from being damaged by herbivory. The event will run from 9:00am until 12:00pm and is suitable for all ages.

Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle. Please wear long pants to protect your legs while in grass. All equipment is provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own work or gardening gloves if able.

Volunteers will meet at the gate to the property Located on Rice Road 600-ft from the intersection with Friant Road. Please carpool as much as possible. Parking is limited.

To get there from Fresno:

  • Head north on Highway 41 and exit Friant Road towards Woodward Park
  • Continue on Friant Road past the park.
  • Turn Left onto Rice Road.
  • The gate is just ahead on the left.
  • Trust staff will greet you at the gate and give you further instructions for parking.

Please contact Jake Salimbene, jsalimbene@riverparkway.org, with any questions.
