Winter Walk at Madera River WestJoin us for a Winter Walk at River West Madera to look for signs of wildlife, learn about local history, and enjoy the brisk winter weather on this nature walk. Guide Bill W. has been leading nature walks for the Trust for 10+ years. He has a biology degree from Fresno State, with a particular interest in life sciences, and has worked for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the National Parks Service in addition to serving as a boy scouts troop leader. We will be meeting at the Bait Shop at Sycamore Island at 9:00 am and will caravan to the hike’s start point at the North end of the property from there. Sycamore Island is located at 39664 Ave 7 ½ in Madera (near Children’s Hospital). Once on site, follow signs for the bait shop to head down to the meeting point. This hike may be anywhere from 1.5-3.5 miles in length and last 1-2.5 hours. Please dress appropriately for a morning outdoors (closed toed shoes, long pants, etc.) and bring a hat, sunscreen, water, and binoculars. Leader will have some loaner binoculars available. Children 7+ welcome. When
