Vicki has lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Huntington Beach, CA, Anchorage, AK (twice), and Bakersfield, CA, and finally married a man and moved to Fresno about 27 years ago. The multiple moves and various states in which they lived gave Vicki an appreciation for the differences in communities, cultures, and nature.
Vicki moved to Bakersfield from Anchorage right before her senior year in high school where she graduated a year early from high school. I went straight to college and earned an accounting degree from Cal State Bakersfield and an MBA from Fresno State University. At about the same time, she passed the CPA exam and earned her license.
In 2000 Vicki met Susan Anderson, elected Board of Supervisor, at Rotary and they began a discussion on running for Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax Collector. It turns out Vicki had the passion for it and the right credentials. Vicki served as the elected Auditor for 14 years and retired a few years ago. Vicki continues to work on special projects for small cities occasionally and serves on several not-for-profit boards. Her passion is the community and spending time in nature with her grandson.
