River Camp Rangers at Owl Hollow

Is your 6th-8th grader ready for an amazing week down by the river? River Camp Rangers at Owl Hollow, held at our newly completed riverfront site next to the River Center, is a camp that's just for them. Each day they will learn leadership skills, participate in games that promote team building and communication with their peers, and complete hands-on science and engineering challenges-- not to mention camp classics like canoeing, swim time, and arts and crafts. Sample activities include building a solar oven to cook s'mores, participating in a site-wide "escape room" challenge, and taking part in classic low ropes course style (groundwork only) teambuilding. Our lively and experienced staff will engage your children in activities that will encourage personal growth as they make new friends, try new things, and reconnect with the natural world. A River Camp 2022 T-shirt is included in the cost of registration.

River Camp Rangers Spring Break Session

Registration begins January 15th and closes on April 5th
Ages: Currently in 6th-8th grades in spring 2022
Time: Drop off between 8:45 am and 9:15 am, pick up between 3:45 pm and 4:15 pm
Location: Campers will be dropped off and picked up from Owl Hollow. Owl Hollow is located next to the River Center but uses a different access point. A map will be sent upon registration, and signs directing parents to the Owl Hollow entrance will be posted along Old Friant Road.
Cost: $160 - Please note: this is a shortened Tu-Th only session (River Parkway Trust members at the $100 annual membership level or $10 per month Sustaining Members or higher receive a $15 discount on each registration; discount code must be entered during registration, discounts will not be given retroactively.)

River Camp Rangers Summer Sessions

Summer Registration for River Camp Rangers opens to River Parkway Trust Members on February 1st, 2022. Public registration begins on March 1st, 2022.
Ages: Entering 6th - 8th grades in fall 2022
Time: Drop off between 8:45 am and 9:15 am, pick up between 3:45 pm and 4:15 pm
Location: Campers will be dropped off and picked up from Owl Hollow. Owl Hollow is located next to the River Center but uses a different access point. A map will be sent upon registration, and signs directing parents to the Owl Hollow entrance will be posted along Old Friant Road.
Cost: $250 ($210 session fees, $50 non-refundable deposit). River Parkway Trust members at the $100 annual membership level or $10 per month Sustaining Members or higher receive a $25 discount on each registration; discount code must be entered during registration; discounts will not be given retroactively.

Cancellation Policy

Full refunds (less the non-refundable deposit amount and any add-on fees) will be given if requested at least seven (7) days before your camp start date. For cancellations made less than seven (7) days before your camp start date, refunds will only be given for medical or family emergencies. The terms medical or family emergencies include any required quarantines due to potential infection with COVID-19. Registrations are final and non-refundable deposits are not transferrable between campers or sessions.

River Camp Rangers at Owl Hollow Scholarships

Scholarship applications can be accessed through the UltraCamp website during the normal registration process. On the options page, please indicate that you would like to apply for a scholarship. You will automatically be taken to the scholarship application form. All applicants must register online and pay the deposit to reserve that camper's space. The majority of awarded scholarships are partial, ranging from $25-$90 of the $115 fee. If you are awarded a full scholarship, the deposit will be refunded to you. If you are registering using a physical registration form, you may apply for a scholarship with a physical scholarship form. All applications are due May 22nd, 2022.
Inspire Charter Students: As of 2022, River Camp is no longer an Inspire vendor.

River Camp 2022 and COVID-19

Our top priority is protecting the health and safety of our campers, Junior Leaders, and staff. As camp programs take place entirely outdoors, kids will have plenty of space to spread out and lots of fresh air to breathe. We will monitor current requirements and guidance documents and implement best practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Safety measures will include:
  • Daily health screenings
  • Reduced group sizes and camp capacity
  • Physical distancing in daily games and activities
  • Frequent hand washing or use of hand sanitizer
  • Increased sanitization of camp facilities and activity materials
  • Use of masks indoors and any time participants might not be able to maintain 6 feet of distance
  • For over 25 years, River Camp has provided youth with the opportunity to spend meaningful time outdoors, create new friendships, and learn about the local ecosystem. We look forward to continuing these traditions in 2022.
