The San Joaquin River Conservancy is preparing an Environmental Impact Report for the extension of a 2.5 mile extension of the Lewis S. Eaton Trail on over 400 acres of public land in the riverbottom, a planning area called River West between Highway 41 and Palm Avenue.
The San Joaquin River Conservancy released the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Eaton Trail extension at River West Fresno on February 16. The DEIR states that there is an unavoidable environmental justice impact.

The San Joaquin River Conservancy will hold an informational meeting on the project at the next Board Meeting on March 1, 2017, at 10:00 am. The meeting will be held at 5469 E. Olive, Fresno, CA, 93727. An additional informational meeting will be held on March 14, 2017 at the Pinedale Community Center, 7170 N. San Pablo, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
