Education Docent Training - MUSD 6th Grade River Center Trips

The San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us run our River Field Trip Education Programs. If you’re interested in bringing youth together with nature by becoming an Education Docent, join us at this training to learn more about our upcoming field trip programs!

This training will introduce those new to the program to the various educational programs offered by the River Parkway Trust and prepare them to assist with the Madera Unified 6th Grade field trips that will be taking place at the River Center in November and December of 2018.  Field trips are typically 9 am - 1 pm, M-F.

This training will include:

  • General education programs overview
  • Orientation on the MUSD 6th Grade field trip program & River Center trips
  • Demonstrations of field trip activities 
  • Nature walk
  • Tips on leading activities and group management

This training will take place from 9 am - 12 pm at the River Center (11605 Old Friant Rd, Fresno).  Please dress appropriately for a morning outdoors and bring a reusable water bottle.  Light snacks will be provided.
