Merced and San Luis Wildlife Refuge Driving Tour and Hike

Registration is closed for this event

**Rescheduled from 2/10 to 2/24**

Join guide Judy J. to explore the wetlands and migratory birds of Merced and San Luis Wildlife Refuges.  Participants will meet at the River Center (11605 Old Friant Rd, Fresno) at 8:00 am and will carpool/caravan for this event.  You'll start at Merced National Wildlife Refuge, where you'll see lots of ducks, and thousands of geese and Sandhill cranes, before heading over to San Luis National Wildlife Refuge.  There you'll have a picnic lunch, explore the visitors center, and head out on the Tule Elk auto tour.

The majority of this trip is a driving tour, with some short hikes throughout the day.  Participants should pack a lunch and bring a water bottle and binoculars.  Each car will have a walkie-talkie to hear the information passed on by our knowledgeable guides.  The caravan will return to Fresno by 3:30 pm at the latest.

This is a rain or shine event.  Children 12+ welcome, no dogs please.
