Walk Off Thanksgiving With the River Parkway Trust
Join guide Bill W. for this free nature walk celebrating the San Joaquin River on Friday, November 24th. We will start with a short hike around our ‘Hidden Homes Trail’ (approximately 45 minutes) before heading out on the 1.5 mile round-trip journey to Owl Hollow, enjoying the migratory bird species and native flora and fauna along the way. The Hidden Homes portion of the walk is ADA accessible.
Bill Wattenbarger has been leading nature walks for the Trust for over 10 years. He has a Biology degree from Fresno State, with a particular interest in life sciences, and has worked for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the National Parks Service in addition to serving as a boy scouts troop leader.
We will be meeting at the River Center (11605 Old Friant Rd) at 9 AM. Please dress appropriately (closed toed shoes, long pants, etc.) and bring a hat, sunscreen, water, binoculars and a small snack. Leader will have some loaner binoculars available.
Children 7+ welcome.
