Great Sierra River Cleanup

The River Parkway Trust's largest annual river cleanup is here! The Great Sierra River Cleanup is the premier volunteer event focused on removing trash and restoring the health of waterways throughout the Sierra Nevada Region. Volunteers will join Trust staff in removing trash from the San Joaquin River and nearby ponds at the Spano River Ranch in North Fresno. All tools and materials are provided.

This event will run from 9:00am until 12:00pm on Saturday, September 16, 2017.

Volunteers will me at the gate to the property.

To get there from Fresno:

  • Exit Highway 41 North at Friant Road
  • Turn Right (northeast) onto Friant Road towards Woodward Park
  • Turn Left (west) onto Audubon Drive and continue past the park and across the overpass
  • Turn Right onto Del Mar Avenue and then make your first Left onto Riverview Drive. The gate will be straight ahead.

Save time by printing and filling out a volunteer service agreement from our River Stewards webpage and brign it with you. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian.

Take care to protect yourself from the heat. Bring a refillable water bottle, put on sunscreen, and wear a hat.
