Respite by the River: Peter Everwine, with Music

Take a break from the rush of everyday life and join the River Parkway Trust for a Respite by the River. Bring your picnic dinner, blanket, lawn chair, and relax on the Ranch House front lawn while you enjoy live dinner music provided by talented local musicians. Macca's Wine Bar will be open during the dinner hour with wines for sale by the glass. Then you'll enjoy a reading by a Central Valley author. Dessert will be available for sale.

Evening Schedule is as follows: 
6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Live dinner music, bring your dinner, purchase your glass of wine or dessert

7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Reading by acclaimed author

PETER EVERWINE BIO 
Peter Everwine was raised in western Pennsylvania. His most recent books are From the Meadow: Selected and New Poems, Listening Long and Late (University of Pittsburgh Press) and A Small Clearing, a chapbook (Aureole Press), His honors include the Lamont Award from the Academy of American Poets, two Pushcart Prizes, an American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Literature, and fellowships from the NEA and the Guggenheim Foundation. He is an Emeritus Professor, California State University, Fresno, and has been a Fulbright senior lecturer in American Poetry at the University of Haifa, Israel. He played banjo in The Sweet’s Mill Mountain Boys and The String Bandits.

BARRY SHULTZ AND MEGAN BOHIGIAN BIO
Barry Shultz is a master practitioner of traditional American music. He plays fiddle, banjo, guitar, and harmonica, and sings. Much of his large repertoire has been learned from original sources. His playing career spans more than four decades, and includes being a regular staff participant at Fiddle Tunes in Port Townsend, Washington, Lark in the Morning in Mendocino, and Sweet’s Mill in the Central Sierra. He has lived and played throughout the American West and Northwest, and now calls his birthplace, Fresno, home. His accompanist is Megan Bohigian, a Fresno poet and musician.
