Our mission is to preserve and restore San Joaquin River lands having ecological, scenic or historic significance, to educate the public on the need for stewardship, to research issues affecting the river, and to promote educational, recreational and agricultural uses consistent with the protection of the river’s resources.
“Our final responsibility is to that of future generations, to take steps today to ensure a lasting and healthy river for tomorrow full of fresh clean water with abundant fish and wildlife, trees and plants, and scenic vistas to enjoy.”

I started out thinking of America as highways and state lines. As I got to know it better, I began to think of it as rivers. Most of what I love about the country is a gift of the rivers… America is a great story, and there is a river on every page of it. –Charles Kuralt
Because of our supporters, there is a growing amount of open land, protected in perpetuity from unplanned development. There are areas along the Parkway where people can experience the joy and renewal of being outdoors. Children can explore and learn about the natural world that sustains all life, where plants and animals are free to exist in accordance with nature’s cycles.
In the midst of the current economic situation, with growing evidence of climate change, and the local trend toward urbanization, it is more critical than ever before that we continue to work together to care for the natural environment and to inspire people of all ages to become our environmental stewards of today and tomorrow.
We’re asking you to continue the positive affect our supporters have on the environment and the community. Support from people like you sustains the Parkway and establishes the cornerstone of the Trust’s financial structure. We really can’t do any of our work without you!
Please give a contribution today. Your gift is so important to us this year. Working together we can be a steadfast team whose efforts reap the benefits for the Fresno/Madera region and establish a legacy of open land and natural spaces that will endure for many decades to come.
